Originally born in Memphis, Tennessee, Joe Aste grew up in San Diego before moving to New York in 2017. He began playing the piano at age 6 and naturally developed an ear for music; at 11 years old Joe switched instruments to guitar and discovered a deep and unrelenting passion for recording - covers, demos, melodies, progressions. He was graced with the opportunity to further explore this passion in high school taking Recording Arts, Rock Band, and Digital Composition courses, and formally embarking on his journey digitally producing music.
The Journey
In 2017, Joe moved to New York to study Music Business at NYU. Through his collegiate career he poured time and energy into producing and recording music, cultivating a community of producers, musicians, artists, engineers, and creatives in New York. In 2020 Joe moved to Los Angeles, expanding community by working with multi-platinum producers and recording artists at some of the most prestigious recording studios in the world. Joe moved back to New York in July of 2021 and landed in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn where he is currently based. As he continues to build his brand and his community, Aste has been working at Nocturnal Recordings, located in Dumbo.
